How computer literate do I need to be to take an online course?

Taking an online course is like reading a book. You can navigate through the chapters and pages in the same manner simply by clicking where you want to go.
Please note that there will be a short unofficial quiz/module test at the end of each chapter.
The test must be answered 100% correctly to proceed/unlock to the next Chapter.
It may take several attempts to complete the end of chapter module test.
Instructions are also provided throughout the course, and you can also reach out for help via the “Contact Us” tab.

Can I start my eLearning course right away?

YES. Once you purchase the eLearning course, you will have immediate access to the course.

Are all required learning materials online?

YES. Everything you need to complete your course is included in the course content. There may be links to resource materials, but these will be available to view/download/print immediately, without exiting the course area.

Can I do the course in more than one sitting?

Yes! We encourage you to work through the course at your own pace. The system will remember where you left off and start you there the next time you login.

Can I use different computers or tablets to access the course?

Yes. You can study your course 24/7 from any device that has an Internet connection.

Do I need to use the same computer each time I log in?

NO. You can access your account from any computer that has an internet connection. You can also take your training using your mobile device or a tablet device.

What do I do if my password doesn't work?

If this is your first time logging in, make sure your Caps Lock button is off, passwords are case sensitive.
If you have logged in before, and have created a permanent password, Use the “Forgot Password” button on the home page and your account info will be sent to the email address you used when you first signed on.

How long do I have to complete my eLearning course?

Online learning is self-paced. This means that each participant moves through the learning material at a rate that matches his or her learning style, prior understanding of the topic, and time availability.



How can I access the online training?

You can access online training from a desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile device. We recommend a high-speed internet connection and one of the following browsers: - Chrome (Windows, macOS, Android) - Safari (macOS, iOS, iPadOS) - Edge (Windows, macOS) - Firefox (Windows, macOS, Linux)

How long do I have to write the exam?

The following courses require a final webcam written exam:
BASICS.fst  : users are allotted 60 minutes to write the final exam.
ADVANCED.fst : users are allotted 90 minutes to write the final exam.

Can I fail a course?

You cannot 'fail' the eLearning course although you can 'fail' a test.
Different courses have different requirements.
BASICS.fst and ADVANCED.fst require that you write a webcam proctored examination upon completion.  To obtain certification documents you must pass this examination.
A minimum of 74% is required for BASICS.fst to receive certification.
A minimum of 75% is required for ADVANCED.fst to receive certification.

If you are not successful on either the BASICS.fst or the ADVANCED.fst Webcam exam, a Webcam Retest can be purchased through your account/Dashboard.
Other e-learning courses on this platform have a self-test and receive immediate certificate upon completion of the e-learning.

What are the webcam exam rules/requirements?

Exam rules are provided in the last chapter of your online course.
You can use any device that has a webcam and can access your exam at any time. 24/7. There is no need to schedule your exam date and time!

How do I access the webcam exam?

You will not be able to access the webcam exam unless you have completed a course with webcam exam access.

What if I fail the exam on my first attempt?

Webcam Retest can be purchased through your account/Dashboard.

Where is my certification valid?

Our TrainCan certificates are valid across Canada!

I passed the exam. When will I receive my certificate?

Your official certificates will be available in your account (Dashboard)



How do I order e-learning courses for my employees?

Please use “Brands“ button on the Home page.

Select your Brand logo then click on “Available Courses“ tab to purchase training for your brand. You can select to purchase training for yourself/one person.

Or you can use the option to “Purchase for Multiple People
Select the Quantity and Type of courses needed.
Enter a main contact name and valid e-mail address to receive all course login KEYS.

I need to order training, but I do not see my brand listed.

I have placed an order. How long does it take to receive the e-learning course KEY?

You should have received an automatic e-mail with your receipt and all e-learning course KEY immediately after purchase.
If you have Purchased Courses for Multiple Employees, you will receive multiple KEYS.
If you have not received an e-mail, please reach out to TrainCan as soon as possible.

I have received all e-learning keys. What do I do now?

The e-learning KEYS are NOT linked to specific employees.
Please distribute one KEY per person.
Each employee will then create their student account and then be guided to enter their KEY, to be able to add a course to their account.

A KEY is only used once. Once redeemed it is no longer needed.

Can I transfer a course from one employee to another?

Each employee must have their own course. Employees cannot share the same course.
